051 - Looking Back đ
Whatâs December without a list looking back?! The opportunity to look over The Localistâs first year has been fun, and weâre pleased to bring you our own take on the year that was. So with that in mind: hereâs a list of lists about this list.
đ These Looked Interesting
Our first few lists ranked pretty high in popularity (as much for their newness as their novelty, we presume), but after that we saw lots of interest for Places We Donât Visit Enough, Roadside Distractions, First Date ideas and our nod to the âotherâ London.
đ±ïžThese Clicked
Made in London and Holidaze had folks clicking all over the place, while Royâs poetry likewise got a lot of love.
đ These Featured Food
Apparently, we write these lists on an empty stomach...as evidenced by: these Meal Deals; our take on the best Wings; two lists about coffee; instructions to satisfy the Midnight Munchies (and  where to follow-up for Breakfast); the messiest BBQ; tastiest Ice Cream; greenest Veggies; staples like Doughnuts and Pizza; and the Drinks to wash it all down with!
đź These Surprised Us
Right now, our editorial staff is tied between learning about Londonâs Underwater Hockey League, and discovering (the day after we hit âsendâ) that our recommendation of Walkerâs Restaurant might have been premature. Learning that the sculptures surrounding White Oaks Mall were created by the same person who designed the mall itself (033) was also pretty cool.
đ€These Didnât Make the List (yet)
From Ilderton to St. Thomas, thereâs been more than a few requests suggesting we highlight experiences just outside the cityâs limits. Those of you on the outskirts of town may just have your dreams come true over 2019.
đ Bonus! These People Supported Us
Many thanks to 2018âs sponsors CityMatch and Bend Bus, our supporters over on Patreon and all our subscribers whoâve sent us notes of encouragement (and bewilderment) along the way!
