047 - Holidaze ❄️
There is snow on the ground, so it’s officially the holiday season! Some of you are stoked; some of you are not. Either way, here’s a list of festive experiences across the city to help you make the most of this special time of year.
🎄 Holiday Markets
There are (approximately) 12,987,478,174 different holiday markets happening across London’s neighbourhoods over the next month. It’s almost guaranteed that your local school, church or cultural centre is hosting something. There are also the classic holiday markets at the Western Fair or Covent Garden Market, plus a few new and unique markets like Meaningful Market, Feministmas, and the Wortley Village Christmas Market.
🏬 Holiday Shops
It seems even our local entrepreneurs have caught the holiday bug with many shops transforming into festive features. Miller & Co, the Bag Lady, and the TAP Centre are all opening their doors (and hearts) to the holiday spirit. You can also connect with Tania Floral Designs to learn how to build some cheer into your own home.
🎹 Holiday Music
Consider the holiday hits—that you're currently hearing in every shop—a warm up for some very special musical events around the city. The Aeolian has at least twelve days of magical concerts lined up over the next month while the Lighting of the Lights gathering in Victoria Park gives you the chance to sing holiday songs with hundreds of Londoners. Looking for a new holiday tradition? This show at Taproot, the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train, and Christmas Queens have got you covered.
🎅 Holiday Parties
Sometimes, the holiday season can be exhausting and stressful, so let loose this December by dancing away your winter woes or by commiserating with fellow entrepreneurs. If you’re in the non-profit sector, celebrate a year of hard work by signing your team up for this holiday party by Growing Chefs! Ontario (they do the cooking and the dishes).
