035 - Made in London ✂
The trend toward big-box stores is being challenged by a growing assortment of home-grown retailers and craftspeople working tirelessly to meet all your household needs with London-made goods. Here’s a list of some of our favourite shops making it easier than ever to skip the chains.
🛁 Living
Whether your decor vibe is soft, (live) edgy, or some beautiful amalgamation of the two, these made-in-London products have your living spaces covered. Plus, the people behind the products are just delightful!
👒 Fashion
There is an expertly-curated vintage clothing scene in London, and the city hosts some skilled creators offering everything from “hot off the press” shirts to impressively upcycled leather bags/wallets/anything-you-want and goods for your littlest buddies!
🍳 Kitchen
If you haven’t heard of the Forest City Cookbook yet: hear about it now! This 500+ page ode to the region’s culinary terroir records absolutely everything anyone would want to know about food in London (and it’s a limited edition print, so get it while you can!). BONUS: Look the part for your culinary projects with these handcrafted aprons, towels, and market bags.
💵 One-Stop-Shops
The convenience of one-stop shopping is undeniable—which makes The Bakers Dozen (a new space in OEV housing 20+ local vendors) a welcome addition to the city’s market scene. Reimagine Co. is a zero-waste pop-up shop operating out of the old Novacks, carrying plenty of London-made products and hosting workshops so you can make it all (in London) yourself.
