039 - Most Important Meal of the Day ⏰
London may have bid adieu to one of the stalwarts of the Saturday morning routine, but we all know that you can’t get very far in your day without good fuel in the tank. If you’re on the lookout for some tasty grub that will help you start the day off right, here are some of our favourite breakfast places.
❤️️ Feel Good
London’s ready to fill your belly and heart with a number of socially-minded breakfast and cafe spots. You’re encouraged to pay it forward at Edgar and Joes by purchasing a coffee or meal for those less fortunate. If you’re looking to up your breakfast accoutrements at home and support local youth in our city, you can’t go wrong with swinging by YOU Made it Cafe to grab a jar or two of spreads.
🥞 Stacks on Stacks
The sap might not be flowing yet, but that doesn't mean we aren’t craving pancakes. From buttermilk and blueberry to banana and chocolate chip, there is no shortage of ways to fry up these flat pieces of round gold. When we have a hankering for a fat stack, it’s a toss-up between the piles at Early Bird or Root Cellar.
👔 Fancy Pants
London may not have the brunch scene to rival the big city, but we’re starting to see more and more weekend options pop-up. Check out the Church Key’s fixe-prix menu, including a delectable basket of fresh-baked pastries. We haven’t been yet, but the Dimi’s Greek House on Richmond has a family pedigree to support this Kosmos Eatery expansion. Want something for the whole family? Combine brunch and dance at Reimagine on October 7.
🥓 Classics
Nothing cures the previous night quite like two eggs over easy, home fries, bacon, and a side of toast. When you finally make it out of bed, you’ve got a couple of option to choose from along Richmond Row, in Masonville, along Wharncliffe, or head right downtown for the finest skillet around.
➕ Side Orders
If you’re on the go, a bagel bomb fits perfectly in your hand, and a homemade breakfast biscuit beats fast food any day of the week. If you’re feeling a bit more Latin, head over to the Market at Western Fair for classic huevos rancheros.
