160 - For the Birds 🐦
Hot on the heels of our designation as one of Canada’s first Bird Friendly Cities comes London’s first-ever spring migration festival. So with our fine-feathered-friends in mind, we’re dedicating this list to the birds.
Bird Friendly London Spring Migration Festival 🥳
Things kick off tonight (May 7) with a trio of talks at the library that lead into a weekend full of guided hikes across London’s Environmentally Significant Areas before wrapping up at London Brewing with a 6-pack of blackcurrant witbier in these collector cans.

Citybirds 🏙
If hiking’s not your thing, you can always bike/drive around town and take in all the city streets named after birds, including: Blue Heron Dr, Eagle Dr/Crt, Falcon Str, Mallard Rd, Merlin St, Mockingbird Cres, Nightingale Ave, Partridge St, Robin Rd, and Seagull Rd.

Yup, we found you a card that celebrates the spring migration AND Mother’s day. Kudos to Jessica Woodward of SharkBiteInk for the timely print.

Cheers to LondonFuse (RIP1) for these 90 seconds on Gord Harrison, who makes some pretty sweet birdhouses and inspired the city’s Little Free Libraries with the Swap Boxes he was building back in 2014.

The Real Bryan Gosling ✅
His mother’s a goose, and his father’s a loon and The Real Bryan Gosling has been known to migrate from Hamilton to London every once in a while…

If you’re a bird… 📒
And finally: what would a list about birds and London be without this scene from The Notebook featuring not one, but TWO London-born lovebirds?!
