198 - Neighbourhood Knockout..explained š¤
Itās been a week since we announced our inaugural Neighbourhood Knockout Tournamentāand weāve had a lot of feedback already...
š¬ Turns out we couldāve been more clear that the neighbourhoods selected for this yearās tournament were chosen because their names had something in common with another neighbourhoodās name (eg. Old North vs Old South, Downtown vs Midtown, Stoney Creek vs Stoneybrook etc.).
Itās also worth underscoring that this yearās winner is going to be decided by luck/fate.1
First Round: Weāll roll dice, with highest number determining the winner š²
Sweet 16: A sudden-death š¤šāļø match will determine the winner
Elite 8: Weāll ask the Magic 8-BallĀ® who would win between X and Y āØ
Final Four: Well draw cards, with the highest number winning (Aces will be high) ā ļø
Championship Match: Weāll draw the winner out of a hat! š§¢
š With all that said, hereās how to take part!
Fill it out and tag us in a post on Instagram (or send us a photo) before Friday, March 31st
The tournament runs (on our Instagram) the first week of April. If you pick the winner, youāll be entered in a draw for a prize-package inspired by the winning neighbourhood (valued at ~$100!!š°).
If anyone manages to pick a perfect bracket š¤Æ: weāll forgo the draw altogether and lobby to have the city present you the key to the neighbourhood! š
Best of luck! š¤

The plan is to get an actual selection committee in place for next yearās tournament and incorporate votes or neighbourhood challenges for each matchā¦but we figured priming the pump with something equal parts funny and random for this year would be a good way to get those competitive juices flowing! š„
