175 - Landmark Movie Mash-Ups 📽🍿
With the city’s Outdoor Movie Nights wrapping up just as Doors Open London gets underway, we thought a mash-up would be fun for this week’s list...
With that in mind: here’s five movies we’d love to watch at some local landmarks!!
🌊 Waterworld at Wally World
Sure, Kevin Costner’s post-apocalyptic film was a flop—but we’d gladly watch it between trips down East Park’s signature waterslide: The Bullet!
-
🦶 Harry and the Hendersons at Home Hardware
While the EOA Sasquatch is currently out of commission, we’re confident he’ll be back on the grounds of Summer’s Home Hardware soon enough and ready to enjoy this late-80s comedy with the rest of us.
-
🍌 King Kong at Banana Kingdom
Let’s put a new spin on the drive-in and bike down the TVP to The Banana Kingdom for a screening of this 1933 classic.
-
🤿 Life Aquatic at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre
Here’s the plan for this quirky nautical adventure from Wes Anderson: we’ll hand out red caps and Speedos® at the door and set up the IKOY-designed Aquatic Centre’s seating as symmetrically as possible.
-
👻 Ghostbusters at the Elsie Perrin Memorial Library
Watching the building come to life again would be a sight in and of itself…but can you imagine watching this scene in the long-abandoned library?
-
🎓 Bonus Feature: The Breakfast Club at Central Secondary School
Long-time readers will know the connection here… otherwise, you’ll have to comb the archives to tell us why this mash-up makes sense 🕵️♀️!
