Meet Arielle 👋
If you don’t know her as Ward 13 Councillor, let us introduce you to localist (and patron), Arielle Kayabaga. As a passionate city-builder with a strong belief that “London is what you make of it” we’re excited to have our recent Q&A with her launch this year’s interview series!
1. What’s one of London’s best-kept secrets? ⛲
That’s a tough one—but I’ll go with the green space around Museum London. Whether you’re taking in the view from the Museum’s new “Centre at the Forks” or outside enjoying Ivey Park, there’s a lot to explore right now...and so many possibilities for future use!
2. What’s your favourite way to spend a Saturday in London? 🍻
If I don’t have work to do, my Saturday’s are usually pretty low-key—but if I’ve got friends visiting from out of town: you’ll find me touring them around Wortley Village and our markets before heading over to the London Brewing Co-Op for drinks.
3. Tell us about the last London thing you recommended to friends. 🍚
I just recently recommended Vas Cuisine. They offer traditional African dishes, and the charcoal smoke they prepare their Jollof Rice with makes all the difference.
4. What are you looking forward to in London this year? 💉
I’m looking forward to getting vaccinated and connecting with people again so we can enjoy the fruit of all the recent investments in our city together!
5. Who should Londoners be paying attention to? 👂
I would say Black Lives Matter London and the advocacy they’re doing.
