124 - Black-owned Restaurants 🎉
Due to the popularity of our Black History Month and Londonlicious links last week, we’ve combed The Localist's archives to bring you five of our favourite Black-owned restaurants. Here’s hoping you’re hungry!
1. Asmara Coffee House 🎉
First mentioned in , then again by Dan in #112, Asmara Coffee House is celebrating their one year anniversary right now—so it’s a perfect time to get your locally roasted beans and coffee to go!
2. TG’s Addis Ababa 🇪🇹
We’ve been big fans of TG’s Addis Ababa since , but gave thanks in and added them to “the tour” in . Sure, the take-out’s great, but we can’t wait to get back around their shared plates with friends someday soon. Please.
3. The New Delhi Deli 🚌
Jay (and a random busdriver) tipped us off to The New Delhi Deli back in #105 and we haven’t stopped drooling since.
4. Reggae’s Carribean 🐐
First mentioned in our epic “Plazapalooza” list (), Reggae’s Carribean got another shout-out from Dan in list #112–specifically for the curried goat.
5. Yaya’s Kitchen 🗣️
Nobody mixes culture, history, food and community quite like Yaya’s Kitchen... which is what drew us to feature them back in and keep an eye on ever since!
