109 - Meet Kelvin 👋
Meet Kelvin 👋
As owner of The Fritter Shop, Kelvin Van Rijn is (literally) baked into the city’s food scene. With the opening of a new North London location next month, we figured now was a great time to get his take on this tasty city.
Q: What’s one of London’s best-kept secrets?
🤫
A: Though it doesn’t seem to be available anymore, I’ve really enjoyed an app called ‘Heart of London App.’ It offered a personal tour of the city and was a really fun thing to do on those days where you're looking for something to do.

Q: What’s your favourite way to spend a Saturday in London? ❤️
A: Working at The Fritter Shop's booth at The Market in The Western Fair District. I genuinely love seeing all the people doing their shopping and talking with everyone who stops by. It's something I don't want to give up no matter how much my business grows.
Q: Tell us about the last London thing you recommended to friends. 🗣️
A: Storm Stayed Brewery. I absolutely love their sour beers!
Q: Who should Londoners be paying attention to? 👀
A: This isn't a specific 'who' but I think Londeners should be paying attention to the local food scene. There are some fantastic London businesses dominating the food space: Nuts for Cheese, Booch and Shelby's, just to name a few. London has proven itself as a hub for food entrepreneurs to thrive.
