101 - Late Summer Recap 🌞
Talk about a summer! With September—and our return to weekly scheduling—around the corner, we wanted to send this update on just some of the many goings-on around town these past few weeks...
Dundas Place flexed 💪
City cyclists were excited to see lowered speed limits on Dundas Place last month, and downright thrilled when the flex street closed to car traffic on weekends! There have been patios, live music, games and more. If you haven't yet: get down there this weekend to check it out.

You stepped up 💰
When a fire forced a family restaurant to close—just days after their grand opening—the community stepped in to raise money that’ll help get Damascus House rebuild.

Poster! Poster!, postered 💯
We loved so much we had Poster! Poster! turn into a series of posters and had them plastered around town for some summer inspiration.

Good City set up shop 🍌
Sparked by recent “mishaps” in the Banana Kingdom, we decided to take some designs we’ve been kicking around and put them online. We’ve got My Hometown Sucks and Forest City Woodcut tees in stock AND we just opened a pre-order for this stellar Localist collab with Soft Flirt, and another run of the Banana Kingdom shirts.

A new newsletter offered Hikes, Hops & History 📫
We’re clearly fans of email newsletters, and Richard and Mitchel Dew’s day-trip travel routes have been a highlight of the summer. This father-son duo created a series of 4 routes consisting of 300-km trips highlighting history, hiking trails and breweries along the way.

Council backed their words with action 🗳️
In a unanimous vote, City Hall moved that “...budget allocations, planning, engineering, transportation, and any service offered in the city should begin to work towards ending racism in the city departments.”

The Majors kept the streak alive 🏆
The cancellation of the Majors’ season couldn’t stop the team from taking to the field to defend Labatt Park’s title as the oldest continually operating baseball diamond IN THE WORLD.
