075 - More Local-lists đ
Today marks our 75th list!
It will also be our last for a whileâŠ
After a year and a half of regular updates we've decided to pause the weekly newsletter and spend some time exploring other ways the The Localist can celebrate this city with Londoners like you!
We'll be moving the archives online shortly and staying busy behind the scenes to set the stage for The Localist 2.0âso donât go too far!
To tide you over for the summer, hereâs an update to list : featuring more of our favourite places to turn for the inside-scoop on whatâs happening around London!
đŠ In the Twittersphere
For the longest time, hitting up #LdnOnt on Twitter promised a slew of great events and happenings. These days, the hashtag can get a little overrun with self-promotionâbut if youâre up for digging, thereâs still lots of gold to be found. Elsewhere on Twitter: how rad is it to have Dundas Placeâs Twitter feed keeping tabs on all thatâs shaking in the heart of downtown?!
đ» Over the Airwaves
Tune your radios to 93.5FM for CBC London Morning and a daily dose of local news and events. Recent features have included conversations about Jurassic Park London, the newly formed Clean Sweep hiking club, preserving Londonâs Punk Rock heritage, and these ways to become attached to your city from one of our founding editors, Steve Macdouell.
đ· On the âGram
Weâve featured before, but theyâve recently turned it up a notch on the socials with an increasing number of event listings showing up in their Instagram stories. Get that follow in before the stories expire!!
đ Around town
Community bulletin boards still exist: and theyâre full of news about upcoming events at both the hyper-local and city-wide level. One of our favourites is the massive board just outside the Libraryâs Central branch. And kudos to our friends at Poster! Poster! for pointing us toward the great boards at Grooves, Commonwealth, Fire Roasted and Locomotive Espresso.
Special Thanks: As we head into the future, the ongoing contributions of our Patrons will continue to ensure the ongoing development, growth, and delivery of The Localist! Thanks to each and every one of you who've supported us thus farâwe're excited to see what comes next ! đđ
