074 - The Floralist đ·
đ·The FloralistÂ
So maybe our April Showers have persisted into May Showers too. But fear not! May flowers are blooming anyways. If youâre already missing the magnolia blossoms of Woodfield, check out these local projects and businesses to get your floral fix.
đBouquet Boutiques
If youâre on a time crunch for a bouquet, Big Flower will do (you know the chains), but if you really want your bundle to bring some joy, then check out one of Londonâs beautiful boutique florists. Tania Floral Design has been a Localist favourite for some time, and weâre looking forward to the promise of Richmond Streetâs new Floral Theory. Livening up Richmond Row is also Grow and Bloom Co., which features plants as well as plant-inspired local artists.
đWildflower Card
âFlowerâ is in its name, but Wildflowers Farm actually specializes in honey and teas. You can try out their products at the Root Cellar, or visit the farm in St. Thomas. Their idyllic property doubles as a venue for dreamy events like pizza nights, yoga workshops, and festivals. Arva Flour Mill also has âflowerâ in  its name (if you think about itâŠ). Itâs North Americaâs oldest continuously operating water-powered commercial flour millâand once hosted a secret show by The White Stripes!
đ±Cultivated Colours
Blackfriars Nursery is perhaps Londonâs best kept floral secret. This heritage home was actually a nursery back in 1860, and the current owners maintain the tradition. Itâs hard to find out much about this spot online, but swing by their third annual Peony Pop Up to see what all the fuss is about. The nursery is also hosting an album release show in their luscious lawn next week! For more opportunities to stop and smell the roses, check out Harris Flower Farm (and Pastured Pork). You may have seen their radiant sunflowers at Covent Garden Market, but there are so many other places to connect.
