068 - Dirty Dozen ✨
With May on our doorstep, it’s the perfect time to get outside and do a little spring cleaning. So, to coincide with London Clean and Green’s “12 Days of Cleaning,” here’s a dirty dozen ways to pitch in and keep this city sparkling all year round.
1-3. Watch London Clean and Green’s official page for details on the “20 Minute Makeover” (Apr 26), “Community Clean-up Day” (Apr 27), and Earth Day (Apr 28).
4. Give the river some love with Friends of the Thames and Antler River Rally.
5. Follow the city’s advice for ensuring only the cleanest water goes into storm drains
6. Follow Life of Leisure’s lead and invite local artists to paint your building or donate to a public street art campaign.
7. Reduce your business' environmental dirtiness by partnering with Green Economy Hub.
8. Adopt-a-Park or go all out and
9. Adopt-a-Street
10. Keep trash from piling up in the first place by refusing single-use cups, bags etc.
11. Further reduce packaging by growing your own vegetables in a community garden plot.
12. If you’re a student heading elsewhere for the summer: drop off your unwanted furniture at the University’s Furniture Depot.
