056 - Tail Spin 🌀
Maybe we’ve been watching too many snowflakes spiral from the sky. Maybe we took a beginner dance lesson and the twirls have got our heads twirling. Either way, we’re dizzy with excitement to share this list of London experiences that’ll spin you right round (like a record).

Do your laundry at this laundromat/café in Soho: it's likely hipper than home—and serves better food, too! They also host a live-music series called Spin Cycle, that we’ve been assured will be returning later this spring.
🗣️ Spin Some Yarns
There’s more than a few ways to experience the influence stories have over our understanding of the world here in London. You can join members of the Nokee Kwe Positive Voice program as they share stories of their experiences as urban indigenous women, or have a go at crafting your own story during the Headline Monologues at B13 The Baker's Dozen. For stories guaranteed to make you chuckle, swing by an open-mic comedy event at Poacher’s Arms.
🧶 (Literally) Spin Some Yarns
Your neighbourhood likely has a community centre full of folks who would love to show you the ropes—or, yarns as it were when it comes to crocheting and other needlework. There’s organized classes you can join, like this one by Wooly Maple, or this one in Westmount. Our next recommendation isn’t literally about spinning yarns, but it’s also a spinning-related craft, so please accept it: Hutton House clients make some of the most gorgeous pottery in the city and are now offering you the chance to get your hands on the wheel.
🚴🏼♀️ Spin Your Wheels
Cycling? In the winter? You better believe it! London Cycle Link has plenty of opportunities to keep your gears turning through the snow with their 24hr bike maintenance marathon, a 24hr velodrome marathon, Bike to Work Day, and cycling advocacy campaigns! There’s really no such thing as the “off-season.”
