043 - Favourite Haunts 👻
The election may be over, but with less than a week before Hallowe’en there’s still lots to fear around town. Here’s a list of some of the spookiest ways to experience London we can think of.
🐎 Eldon House-guest
Every tour of London’s scariest experiences must start with a search for the bedraggled and damp ghost of Eldon House: the “late” Wenmam Wynniatt. Join The Great Ghost Hunt every Friday and Saturday evening during October in hopes of catching a glimpse. Off-season, you’re best to try your luck wandering Harris Park by the light of the full moon....
⚡Frankenstein Live
After a run of stellar Hallowe’en parties (RIP Fright Night), Museum London celebrates the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein with a screening of the 1931 film adaptation alongside a live soundtrack from local electronic duo Wormwood.
🎭 Grand Mystery
Call us dramatic, but the 1919 disappearance of Ambrose J. Small—original owner of London’s Grand Theatre—is just too mysterious to leave off the list. In the years since his "exit, stage left" his ghost has been rumoured to persistently assert its influence over the theatre. Here’s hoping he makes an appearance alongside fellow ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet To Come for this year’s production of A Christmas Carol.
🎢 Storyspook Village
Got kids you don’t want to scar(e) for life? Storybook Gardens promises minor chills with their “costumed characters and amusement rides at night.”
Bonus: 👻
Rumour has it Forest City Records has a real “graveyard smash” planned for release tomorrow. Keep your ears tuned to their social channels to catch the apparition before it disappears.
