025 - Kid-Friendly Experiences đ¸
Hereâs the good news for those of you with (or watching) children this summer: London has plenty of fun activities for all of the kids in your life. So grab the sunscreen, pocket a few Aspirin, and head on out to experience the kid-friendly side of our city.
đ Hit a Splash Pad
Cool off with the kids at one of the cityâs splash pads; a few of our favourites include Ivey Park, Gibbons Park, and Springbank Park. Looking to make a bigger splash? Head over to East Park and experience Southwestern Ontarioâs largest wave pool and the late Wally Worldâs (RIP) most famous slide: The Bullet. Â Â Â
âď¸ Enjoy Some Air-Conditioned Fun
For those looking to avoid a run-in with sunstroke, thereâs lots of indoor fun to be had around town. Climbing the rock walls at Junction, exploring the playground at Play Away, going beast mode on The Factoryâs warrior course, and tagging friends with foam-tipped arrows at The Hood Archery Games are all great ways for the kids to keep cool while burning energy.
đĽ Catch an Outdoor Movie
You know itâs summertime in London when our local parks are filled with eager moviegoers. Pop some popcorn, pack a few lawn chairs, and catch a flick with the rest of the neighbourhood. This summerâs features include The Princess Bride, Wall-E, The Minions Movie and more.
âž Re-live your Childhood
If you grew up in the Forest City, your summer likely consisted of a visit to Storybook Gardens (Seals!), Fanshawe Pioneer Village (Pigs!), and/or Labatt Park (Tigers!). All three places are still operating in full effect (minus the seals and tigers), so take the kids on a tour of days gone by. Alternatively, you could just stay home and tell the kids about afternoons playing video games at Ace Arcade, watching flicks at London Mews, and playing mini-golf INSIDE Masonville Place.
