016 - Plazapalooza 🏪
Despite the rising popularity of big box stores, our local plazas still hold a special place in our hearts, and along London’s main roads. Here’s a few of our favourites in all their independent glory!
🍣 900 Oxford Street East
Making the neighbourhood one of the most walkable in London, this plaza provides all of the necessities in one convenient strip. Browse the racks at this social enterprise, chow down on the city’s best sushi, visit the original roadhouse, and (re)discover the bagel bomb. Looking to take the plaza to-go? Grab a bottle, something for fido, and hit the road.
🍗 1050 Kipps Lane
Nestled in the heart of one of London’s most underrated neighbourhoods, this plaza is full of food shops to satisfy all the bellies in a family unit: deep fried, Italian, american pub fare, and some jerk chicken too. Not interested in eats? Get inked.
🐟 561 Southdale Road
Offering purveyors of fine latin food, olde style fish & chips, and cold treats in the summer months, this plaza also hosts a run-of-the-mill pizza joint when one of our preferred parlours isn’t close by.
🍡 159 Wharncliffe Road
More than a few of this plaza’s businesses have made previous lists, but we figured it was worth listing them here together for our new subscribers. So, next time you’re cruising down Wharncliffe, pull into 159 for hot slices, cold suds, kebabs, and a community-loving kitchen!
